How to do Month's work in a week
Written on: 12th May 2025
Not kidding, this week felt like a whole month.
And no, that’s not me being dramatic it genuinely did.
Waking up early (7am lol it is early for me). Long walks. Then get home work. Get into full-blown flow state. And later worry about the other stuff in end.
And more than that, this week reminded me why I write these newsletters.
These are not just updates these are a form of journaling. A weekly checkpoint.
A quiet moment for me to reflect What went well? What felt off? What am I proud of?
And most importantly: What do I carry into next week?
Life Update
Been waking up at 7am (still getting used to it, ngl) then going for a walk/run followed by consuming daily Greens (Huel) + Omega-3. And I think Omega-3 is reflecting in focused work.
I am done with the swimming lessons and I went to beach today and was able to swim really well. Last year I had made a promise to myself that next summers I would come back here (Salthil Beach) and swim like float and I did, it feels like an achievement kinda like how you unlock a character achievement in RPG games.
Shot a podcast with an amazing guest a key learning from that is shared below.
Gym… once. But it was a full-body sesh so I’ll take that win 😅, I mean anything but 0 is good right?
Went to a networking event by Google Developer Club and now somehow I was talked into delivering a guest session about personal branding next month. In networking you really can’t predict where the opportunities will come from, now can you?
Batched good amount of content until the end of May. Now, I’ll work on other business stuff ;)
Went partying, ironic I literally shared why I quit drinking in the last week’s issue. But don’t worry all I had was H2O.
Consulted a person from Morocco about moving abroad (I am a Global personal brand now)
I am a leather jacket person now, baddie ;p
How I got a months work done in a week
1. Weekly Planning > Daily Planning
Instead of scrambling every morning, I sat down Sunday night and planned my entire week
Monday: Building a data pipeline at work
Tuesday: Scripting + Ideation
Wednesday: Consulted a person from Morocco about moving abroad
…and so on
I even planned meals (cook once Mon-Fri), watch a movie, and chill.
More about meal prep in this beautifully explained video by my friend here.
You might think that kills spontaneity. It doesn’t. It gives your brain space to actually enjoy those moments without guilt.
2. Maker vs Manager Blocks
Divide the day into two like this:
Maker’s Block (deep focus): scripting, data analysis work, shooting content etc.
During this time only do tasks which require 100% focus and you can deliver on that expectations. For me it’s in the morning post walk. For you it could be evening, night or noon.
Manager’s Block (light focus): replying to DMs, emails, groceries, video editing reviews etc
I am usually doing these later in the day post lunch, because that’s when I am feeling sluggish and less focused.Try this for a week. You’ll feel like you doubled your output.
3. Journaling = Data
Two weeks ago when I was sick. I wrote about it in my journal. And while at it I looked back and realised I was sick around this same time last year. And the year before. 1st May in 2024, 9th May in 2023. Wild right? That’s the power of journaling. It helps you see patterns. See what breaks your rhythm. What boosts your energy.
And over time you optimise your life around it. And honestly this one particularly I wasn’t doing intentionally but I feel very emotional when I am sick so I journal alot could be written, voice notes, sketch format doesn’t matter really. But isn’t this super cool?
I was sitting next to a CTO of mid-sized company
If you feel “I am late in getting rich”
This happened during my recent podcast shoot.
I was sharing how I often feel pulled in two directions Do I go all-in on content?
Or focus fully on data analytics and climb the corporate ladder?
Or somehow try to do both, even if that slows everything down?
And then she(my podcast guest) dropped something that blew my mind.
“Let’s say your content goal takes time T1. And your corporate/data goal takes time T2. No matter how you split it, it’ll always take T1 + T2 to reach both.”
I can:
Do T1 first, then T2
Do T2 first, then T1
Or try to do both at once (but you’re still clocking T1 + T2 either way)
It’s just the order that changes, not the total time it takes to achieve both.
I realised this idea applies to life too. We feel behind when someone gets rich at 30. But maybe I’m also prioritising my relationships, my health, my family T2, T3, T4. So while someone might reach T1 early (wealth), they’ll still take time to reach the others. In the end, we all clock the same total time to become “whole”.
This simple model completely dissolved my FOMO. So if you ever feel behind, ask yourself: What time units am I working on? And which ones are they?
The path may look different but the full picture often lands us in the same place, just with different chapters flipped. Deep right?
The podcast would be out soon so make sure you subscribe the channel.
If you’ve read till here, thank you.
