I finally found Clarity
Written on: 29th March 2025
I have been putting off writing this one for a while due to perfectionism, but then thought well wouldn’t it be cool for readers to see my growth in writing through these newsletters so here it is.
Life Update
Failed my Driving Test (Didn’t feel bad about it but an emotional breakdown more on it further)
Loan Outstanding amount - 16,53,365/- (Closing in soon!)
Created a Career Experiment series which felt like an achievement after scheduling it felt satisfactory and felt like you know this is what I am chasing rather than the Numbers, Views etc. This feels internally good.
Went for a Cold Dip with friends that was crazy, missed one of my swimming lesson because I forgot to have it on my calendar and blamed my friend for not informing (which I apologised about, I make mistakes too)
Finally got clarity about my future of relocation, career transition and business.
Big Breakthrough - Navigating Confusion
I was confused about my whole decision of relocation and career transition should I move to some other place (if you have been following me you might know where). But couldn’t really find one answer to how can decide which path to go on because staying here and relocating both are lucrative and risky in their own way. So I went on a hunt for the answer using a book and pen as tool.
Also asked for help by talking to people who are already in that place, booked some 1:1 calls with the Data Engineers whom I admire and are working at big tech like Google and Doordash. Asked the very same thing in the Journey Club Call.
Saksham recommended this framework called WADM. And this really helped so the way I did it was in my columns added things like visa, lifestyle, career growth, personal growth, connections with people, money, material growth. And finally came to a conclusion that Ireland is the best decision in the near future.
Things to remember while seeking Clarity:
You might be biased about choosing a particular option not necesaraliy it’s the best. Acknowledge that biasness first.
I was inclined towards a particular option merely because I don’t want to step out of my comfort zone. This is important as humans, if we wish to breakthorugh we need to chase being uncomfortable.
Is this the next shiny object I am chasing? (Short Term Discomfort <<< Long term Peace)
So, finally I have decided I will be staying in Ireland for more 3 years(approx) transition into Data Engineering domain and I have allocated myself 4months timeframe to learn the skills at least 70%. By following this roadmap.
Btw, that’s how you set goals. What I want? By When? How I can?
Which brings me to Goals, it’s been 3 months since 2025. This was my vision board.
These were the goals and why some suck, while others work:
Creator Business - Have a good team all A players, have 5k followers of IG and Youtube seperately. The later, having a particular follower mark is not an ideal goal. Because it is not in my hand. That is an external/ output oriented goal. Which honestly should have been I will post regularly and keep improving the content. Which I realised after creating this “Career Experiment Series”. After looking at the output internally I felt so good that okay rather than chasing numbers this is what I will be chasing - Quality Content.
Getting down to 65kgs - Promised myself that I will hit the gym 4X/week and put in 10k steps daily with 1800 Cal intake. Now this is the perfect goal because it focuses on my inputs rather than I want abs.
Thought work while setting goals:
Putting a deadline might be a precondition to failure, because come on if you don’t achieve it by then you’ll feel like a piece of crap. (So acknowledge this and focus on the progress I made so far) Directly relates to my failed driving test. Worst is I failed best is no major issues just some minor errors.
Need to change input to get a certain output, come on my degree would be waste if being a Programmer I don’t understand that if I keep giving the same inputs the output won’t magically change.
Chase Clarity first and then just bang on lock in on action. And if feeling stuck chase momentum because Inertia an object at rest continues to stay at rest unless and external force is applied (could be Time Blocking or going to a cafe for work, step out get the momentum, could be 10min walk/run)
Try to Track progress - Can use a monthly tracker simply mark the days you did the thing. Try to build a streak
Don’t Lie to Yourself
In this whole realm of achieving goals and manifestation one thing I have realised is if your self belief system is strong enough one can achieve whatever they desire. I live by this whole positive talk and keeping promises to yourself theory but my online friend Mradul really helped conceptualise this.
So bascially the idea is never break any promises made to yourself. Eg: I want to quit somking do it quit it, maybe change the whole personality about yourself if someone offers you say i am not a smoker rather than I am trying not to. It helps your brain to trust you more. That okay this guy is keeping his word. Be the person of his word. Let’s say if I wanted to quit caffeine but still I am drinking it, my brain signals will be dude this guy doesn’t even keep his own words let alone his desires and stuff. I hope I made my point.
Also positive self talk I don’t mean waking up standing in front of mirror and yelling I can do it, what I really mean is with money—if you always say, “That’s too expensive,” you’re conditioning yourself to believe you can’t afford things. Instead, try saying, “Not right now, but I’ll work towards it.” It’s a small shift, but it changes everything.
Unpopular opinion - Dressing Well really helps boost confidence, also recently got into skincare too. Btw, I follow this guy for styling guide also Kanika helped me a lot in my Wardrobe consultation she’s a stylist herself.
Need a Breather
Lately, I have been working right left centre in my Day Job, Youtube Channel, Up-skilling, Getting a Driving Liscencse, Improving my swims, Diet, Gym, Run phew… a lot of things on my plate. I did not realise this until I failed my driving test and it was an eye opener that wait a second okay this I will clear out but when came back home was feeling bit anxious, overwhelmed din’t really understood what was going on.
So, grabbed coffee and sat down journaling which made me realise that actually the problem is I am just doing too much and life is kinda on autopilot and stuck in routine. Chasing these goals.
I need to breathe a little I think I went through a short burnout there. But anyways immediately called my friends and made a plan for Sunday (23rd March) we are going for a Ocean Dip. Lately that has been a therapy for me and I am highly addicted to the feeling post dip. Anyways, point being need to have some breather sessions giving body time to energise. And not gonna lie this week was truly energising got clarity on my decision of relocation as well as created a comic of myself.
Also ways to energise are 200% meeting friends and hanging out with them because after all we are social species. This whole self development journey might sometimes be lonely but at the end having people around to share some memories helps. Also big thanks to Diana for bringing in Brownie.
Life hack slightly heated brownie + Vanilla Ice-cream is heaven.
The Ai Effect
Well with all the Studio Ghibli going around it feels really special when shown to my parents and seeing all those cute animated pics floating all over. With all that there’s another side who is completely not cool with this, which I understand where they coming from. But wasn’t that the same when Internet came into exsistence. I feel as humans we need to adapt hence spent whole 4hrs yesterday creating something cool on top of ChatGPT you can check here.
I feel it’s the same thing with the TV being replaced by Youtube. So if you don’t adapt there would be a chance of irrelevance. I have been learning more on the Ai prompting over the past few months and it’s crazy to see how rapidly it is changing. I feel Ai can be used as a huge leverage to boost the exsisiting knowledge. And the one’s who will fail are the on’es thingking Ai will do all the work. In reality my POV is knowledgeable person using Ai will be more impactful over a mere “Hey Chatgpt can you write me a newsletter”
With that said now is the best time to create a personal brand because eventually I see that it’s gonna be Ai everywhere and the person who will have more leverage is someone being authentic and putting the real emotions.
Sharing Wins
Recently I got an inbound request from someone whom I used to follow and admire that they would love to join me on my podcast (How to Become X). And this solely came through them watching one of my videos. So, if you can leverage content now because it is decentralised you never know who will read your X thread or your LinkedIn post or even your Youtube Post.
Goals for next 30 days
Release a comprehensive Ebook about my entire knowledge on the idea of moving abroad
Shooting a podcast atleast
Getting better at SQL, Python by using Leetcode and Other DE tools like Spark and stuff.
Things I was listening to recently
ChatGPT Prompt for Journalling and figuring out stuff.
“I want to uncover the masks I’m currently wearing, the roles I’m playing, and the illusions I’m believing. Please guide me through this process by asking me 10 reflective questions one at a time to help me recognize the stories I’m telling myself. After I answer the 10th question, please step into the role of my higher self and analyze my responses. Identify the top negative patterns present in my life and the top positive patterns I can embrace and grow. Be direct and truthful. Tough love is welcome. Provide me with daily affirmations to support my growth, actionable steps to change my behaviors, and embody my authentic self. And a message of encouragement from my higher self to celebrate how far I’ve come on my journey.”
