Moving abroad Story
Written on 26th Aug 2025
You know what, when I reflect on my journey to Ireland, I can pinpoint every achievement to someone who helped me. Every single one.
When I was moving to Ireland, a friend who was my neighbour back in India was already living in Dublin. He visited my home and helped me pack.
Spoiler alert, I had to empty my entire bag because I had packed complete bullshit. But he guided me through it.
When I arrived here, I landed pretty late at night. In the morning, there was this guy in my hostel dorm (because I didn’t have my accommodation sorted yet).
Luckily, another Indian face. It felt warm.
Through him, I got my accommodation sorted. He passed on his lead to me because he already got something in week 1.
That’s when I met this wonderful couple who helped me in every aspect of settling in. The guy was a senior software developer, been in Ireland for 3-4 years.
Looking at him studying and working gave me motivation. He helped me crack interviews, write resumes, do networking, cold DMs, cold outreach - literally everything.
During university, I had this friend who helped me socialise. When I came here, I was completely introverted. No confidence. Shy to communicate.
He pushed me to grab all opportunities. Even the fully sponsored trip to France? It was my grit but he pushed me forward and helped with the visa situation.
You won’t believe I got a Schengen Visa within a week. For context, it is a one-in-a-million opportunity here. And that too for France is next to impossible.
And that’s the reason I keep saying if I go back in time and reflect, I can pinpoint every success to someone who helped me. Every business achievement. Every client. Every breakthrough.
Someone was there.
Hence, the main reason for starting this content creation journey was to give back to the community. That’s the sense of fulfilment I want.
Money? Sure. I want to buy that Tissot PRX Watch. But when someone walks up and says, “Bhaiya, you helped me a lot, man” - that feeling is superior to anything else.
Even if you paid off my entire debt tomorrow, the above feeling would still be superior.
Hence, I thought this journey was pretty lonely.
You’ll feel depressed. Nothing will work in your favor. Luckily, I had people around me.
But not everyone is privileged to have that luxury. Maybe they’re introverted.
Or you don’t feel that trust.
Since I’ve built this brand handcrafted by myself with sweat and everything over the past two years, I think I’ve built that trust amongst you guys.
That’s why you joined these newsletters.
So, I spent past weekend putting together something I wish I had when I landed in Dublin that night. The Ultimate Guide to Ireland for Students.
This isn’t another generic “study abroad” PDF. This is the handbook I would have paid thousands for.
Remember when that friend helped me repack my entire bag? This guide has the complete packing checklist so you don’t pack bullshit.
Remember struggling with SIM cards and university registration? Step-by-step instructions for PPSN, IRP registration, opening bank accounts.
Remember not knowing where to live or how to avoid accommodation scams? Complete accommodation guide with websites that actually work.
This is what’s included in the guide
Additionally, you’ll have access to a live Q&A session, where I’ll answer your specific questions about any topic.
Note this QnA will be hosted on Thursday 28th 8 pm Indian Time.
So make sure you get the guide before that.
This covers literally everything you need to land safely in Ireland and figure out your first month. From the moment you book your flight to the moment you get your first part-time paycheck.
And when I say I made every mistake possible, trust me I made plenty of mistakes because I was a naive 21 year old.
Packed the wrong things. I was about to get scammed on accommodation. Struggled commuting from Dublin to Galway.
You don’t have to.
This guide is three years of lessons compressed into a handbook you can finish in one sitting.
It’s the friend I wish I had, available 24/7 on your phone.
This guide costs less than one dinner date in a decent restaurant in India. But it’ll save you weeks of confusion and hundreds in mistakes.
See you next Week!
